Tremoring in Porto

I’m just back from 5 truly gorgeous days in Porto which was a perfect balance of foodie heaven, yoga, and my latest fascination, TRE… the latter two things I hope would somehow miraculously counteract the cholesterol heavy first one as 99% of being a foodie in Portugal is all about indulging in incredible local wines, cheeses, hams, custard tarts and erm… the odd ‘Francesinha’. Taken from Wikipedia, this is: “a Portuguese sandwich originally from Porto, made with bread, wet-cured ham, cured sausage, fresh sausage like chipolata, steak or roast meat and covered with melted cheese and a hot thick tomato and beer sauce served with french fries”.

As much as I could very easily write a whole post on the delectable food of Porto, I wanted to mention that the holiday developed an unexpected theme of tremoring as I taught the two friends I was with the exercises and took them through sessions of tremoring almost everyday, as well as doing my own, usually after my morning practice. I am utterly fascinated with the process and am very much still in an early phase of my own experience with it – I wonder if my tremors will ever feel and look like this… fascinating! He looks like he’s being worked on by an osteopath from the inside out.

Right, now for a week of kale…
